We managed to create a plug and play standing chair that simply works, giving you an actual sense of presence in VR every time, and most importantly, significantly reduces nausea caused by locomotion.

We proudly present our prototype device we’ve been busy working on, the VR Chair.

We managed to create a plug and play standing chair that simply works, giving you an actual sense of presence in VR every time, and most importantly, significantly reduces nausea caused by locomotion.

We believe that VR can become the ultimate Media, and as such we don’t want it to fail. The VR goggles are advancing, which is good, but there are no solutions for locomotion available to consumers.

Computers or game consoles became mainstream with the invention of their peripherals (the mouse and keyboard, game controllers etc.). VR headsets are not a complete VR system, without peripherals that solve the issue of locomotion and nausea.

Issuing movement commands with your fingertips generates faint signals to the area of the brain where touch sensations are processed, which in turn generates a noise in the brain area where the execution of voluntary movement is processed, resulting in a faint signal of movement, simultaneously receiving a visual confirmation. This allows the user to experience virtual movement that feels real, while reducing nausea significantly.
